Education

I was an anthropology major and a math minor at the University of Miami. I have always loved math but enjoyed the opportunity to study something different while I was in college. Although I was not an education major, after college I worked in public schools for 5 years and currently hold a 6-12 mathematics certification in the state of Florida.

Experience

After graduating from the University of Miami in 2012, I spent 5 years teaching Algebra 1, Geometry, and Algebra 2 in Miami-Dade Public Schools. During my free time, I tutored many students in a small group and one-on-one setting. I have experience tutoring all high school math subjects as well as 1st, 3rd, 6th, and 8th grade math. I am well versed in all math topics and during my time as a teacher went through many trainings to improve my teaching techniques and how to understand the Florida Standards.

Hobbies

Teaching has always been my passion. I love finding ways to help students excel by tapping into their own personal learning style. I currently have several students who I work with one-on-one to ensure that they understand all of the material that is being taught to them. I also have a few students who are homeschooled. I love creating fun activities for these students to help them learn about their favorite subjects . By keeping an open line of communication with each parent, I ensure that they are getting the services they require and are always up to date with their child's progress. I am looking to increase the number of students I have in order to assist more families in whatever way I can.
